a beautiful day

BW Gibson Photography did a wedding this past weekend in Rockport and Gloucester.  I just have to say that the bride and groom and their friends and family were so absolutely delightful, that i think Brooks and I enjoyed ourselves as much as anyone there.  That, and the fact that it was a beautiful wedding, a gorgeous day, and you could seriously feel the love. While I can't wait to throw a bunch of the wedding photos up here, the first showing goes to the lovely bride! For now, here's just a shot of the ceremony.

The Annex Openning

As you may know, we at BW Gibson Photography recently teamed up with two fantastic fellow photographers and friends and opened a studio in downtown Gloucester, Massachusetts.  Together we call ourselves The Annex and we want to celebrate this union and show off our work.

So, we're having a gallery opening at our studio at The Blackburn in Gloucester.  Our art work and professional photography varies wildly and that's what you can expect to see hanging on the walls on June12th from 4 to 8.  There will also be food and refreshments, so please come join us!

"from" Hawaii

We're from Hawaii.  Well, photographically speaking =).  I'm originally from Miami.  My husband is originally from here, in Gloucester, Massachusetts.  We met in San Diego and moved to Maui together.  The rest, as they say, is history....

But shortly after we got settled in Hawaii, we started a photography business together and called it Honu Photography.  Honu is Hawaiian for sea turtle... It made sense to us, as we are sort of the turtle type, if that could make sense to you.  We mainly did wedding photography there. Most of those were destination weddings and all of them were beautiful.

After four years, having a beautiful wedding of our own, and having a baby (also with a hawaiian name) on Maui,  we decided to head home. We are now settling ourselves in Rockport and Gloucester, Massachusetts, surrounded by family we missed out on when we were so far away.
So, now we're east coasters.... and with a new name.  We didn't think "Honu Photography" sounded right for the boston area.  We look forward with excitement to the upcoming weddings and events in this different but familiar landscape.
